Editor-in-Chief for The Everymom
FULL-TIME
The Everymom is hiring a passionate and highly-organized Editor-in-Chief to lead our team of content creators and take The Everymom brand to the next level. We’re looking for a creative thinker excited at the prospect of helping to define our approach to daily content, hone our voice, and grow The Everymom audience.
We’re excited to find a candidate who has the necessary leadership skills and vision to contribute to the site growth and company culture. This position will report directly to the site cofounder Alaina Kaczmarski as well as work closely with the managing editor of The Everymom to create meaningful strategy that meets internal brand values, as well as traffic and revenue goals.
The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of what makes high-quality, credible online parenting content and have 3+ years editorial and managerial experience. Previous experience working in a fast-paced media environment is a must.
In addition to content strategy and overall growth, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for supporting the business needs of the company via budget management, sponsorship work, team mentorship, directing photoshoots, and speaking at public events as needed. This is a multifaceted role for an energetic and experienced leader who can truly devote herself to the many aspects of a growing media company.
Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in working on content related to motherhood, pregnancy, and parenting, women’s lifestyle, career and finance, culture, health, relationships, and current events.
ABOUT THE EVERYMOM:
The Everymom is the ultimate online resource for moms, moms-to-be, and mother figures in various seasons of their lives. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Craft, direct, and manage creative growth vision for TheEverymom.com and all of its supporting digital properties.
- Responsible for driving forward-thinking vision and growth plan of content, visuals, user experience on all channels.
- Recruit and build relationships with talented, well-known writers and fresh voices alike, hunting down underreported stories and exclusives
- Be directly involved in brand/platform building, daily programming decisions, social distribution, newsletters, and more
- Oversee support and creative direction and collaboration for all sponsored content and RFPs. Will collaborate directly with the Director of Brand Partnerships to create storyboards and direct both visuals and editorials for each campaign.
- Must be able to think outside of the box to ensure that brand partnerships and sponsorships are executed successfully and meet key KPIs for partners.
- Work with Managing Editor and Assistant Managing Editor to ensure writing staff is being maximized and visual and editorial guidelines followed supporting overall strategic direction.
- Coach and train the team on audience best practices, including metrics and analytics
- Work with The Everymom writers and editors to shape and refine their best work
- Responsible for direction and management of on-site affiliate shopping implementation and for ensuring revenue and growth goals are met and exceeded; working closely with Managing Editor to set and meet goals
- Responsible for management of prop and photoshoot budgets for production of editorial and sponsored features.
- Seek out new growth opportunities for content and brand expansion to fill industry voids in the Mom/Kids space.
- Direct mentorship and collaboration with Managing Editor to ensure seamless site operation and HR/Staffing.
- Weekly meetings with The Everymom staff to discuss content strategy
- Monthly check-in with management to discuss quarterly traffic and growth goals
- Speaking or presenting at events

REQUIREMENTS:
- Have 5-10 years experience working in digital media, particularly on the content side.
- Managed teams, editorial calendar, and budget.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to guide a team towards business goals.
- Has a forward-looking approach and the passion to track trends in digital content, shopping, and social media. Exhibit true passion for researching competitive markets and potential revenue streams. Constantly have your hand on the pulse of the things our readership cares about and finds useful.
- Be proficient in WordPress or another CMS system and have some level of technical familiarity with site operations.
- Be able to execute quickly and creatively, on both an editorial level and in terms of initiating pitches.
- Keen editorial eye and knowledge of how to package an article, from headline to image sourcing and SEO.
- Worked with RFPs, sponsorships, and pitch meetings with partners. Initiative to seek out new partnerships and create relationships for growth.
- Ability to lead meetings and brainstorming sessions with team members. Hands-on mentoring experience for team members. Make staffing recommendations as needed to optimize performance of overall team.

Managing Editor for The Everygirl
FULL-TIME
The Managing Editor position will report to our VP of Digital Content to strategize, pitch, and organize engaging content for TheEverygirl.com.
Responsibilities include overseeing the site’s editorial calendar and schedules and working closely with the editorial staff to develop high-performing, quality, content across all platforms, including the website, newsletter, and social channels, etc. But given the size of our ever-growing start-up, you’ll quickly see you have your hands in a lot more than that.
We are looking for a proven leader who can inspire creativity and excellence among staff; a fast thinker and executer who can apply a careful, critical eye to stories across the site, adding the finishing touches to articles such as sourcing dynamic imagery, generating headlines, optimizing SEO, and finalizing overall story flow. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in working on content related to general women’s lifestyle, career and finance advice, culture, health, relationships, and current events.
The Managing Editor participates in an ongoing editorial review and traffic goals with the VP of Digital Content. This position will also work closely with our partnerships team on sponsored campaigns.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience editing full-time for a national publication, working entirely or predominantly online. This person must be able to edit multiple pieces a day, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a high level of organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for planning and managing monthly editorial calendar and long-term planning, story ideation and pitch workflows, deadlines, and general management of publishing schedules
- Maintain an organized system of all pitches, keeping a database of ideas, assigning, keeping track of deadlines, etc.
- Prioritize traffic growth by tracking performance metrics and trending topics
- Proactively create and manage new workflows as needed to enable writers and editors to work efficiently and effectively

Political Contributor for The Everygirl Media Group
PART-TIME
Do you love following the latest happenings in the White House, on Capitol Hill, and beyond? Are you regularly tuned into breaking news? Are you able to translate dense information in a succinct and accurate way for a general audience? We’re looking for a smart, experienced political writer who can quickly act upon timely news and help translate important facts to our audience on The Everygirl and The Everymom.
This position will brainstorm, pitch, and write content for sites and social channels, working directly with our editors to help shape our political coverage, and act as a consultant for our senior leadership. If you’ve ever read our site and felt like an important news story was missing or wished you could share context and insight to make it all easier to understand, we want to hear from you.
In addition to writing clear, concise copy, our Political Contributor will also have a deep understanding of journalistic practices, including correct sourcing and thorough fact-checking. This writer will have the initiative to brainstorm new pitches for current events, as well as the agility to respond to breaking news as needed, all while maintaining our brand voice and vision.

Junior Sales Manager
PART-TIME
As the Junior Sales Manager, you will be responsible for directly supporting the VP of Sales and Marketing on outbound sales, coordination, prospecting, and RFPS. This is a critical role at The Everygirl Media Group serving both The Everygirl and The Everymom properties with expansive growth potential to a FT role within six months. While this role is outbound sales, it also has a creative component. You will be a key part of the editorial brainstorm process and work with editorial staff to bring big campaigns to life.
We’re seeking someone who has a history as a motivated and proven sales representative who works hard, thinks outside of the box, and lives and breathes creative branded partnerships and native campaigns. We want someone who loves to hit and beat revenue goals, and ensure their team does as well.
The perfect fit for this role is someone whose instinct is to take action when something needs to be accomplished and is a genuine self starter. You’re a person that is going to exceed sales goals for you and your team through a mix of leveraging the brand relationships that you bring with you to this role, along with a willingness to knock on doors and introduce our brand to new advertisers.
