Nearly Apricot
Rare Beauty Nearly Apricot Stay Vulnerable Liquid EyeshadowRare Beauty Nearly Apricot Stay Vulnerable Liquid Eyeshadow ($20.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a brighter, medium orange with subtle, warmer reddish undertones and a semi-matte finish. There was barely-there gold pearl, which was quite fine, strewn throughout that came through more noticeably when sheered out.
The texture was airy, more like a whipped mousse, and had buildable coverage from more semi-sheer to medium, and it was easy to sheer out as more of a wash of color if preferred. The formula was quick to dry down, and it did turn to a more powder-like, transfer-resistant finish quickly, so I’d recommend using a brush to really blow out the color along the edges or to work rapidly one eye at a time if using fingertips. I found that it lasted better at sheerer coverage, though (closer to eight hours), as I had visible creasing when wearing it at higher opacity after six hours of wear.

The formula is supposed to go from “liquid-to-powder” to “build” and “blend” with “no creasing, smudging, fading, [or] transferring” to “last all day.” The marketing headline is “a wash of color that lasts.” The coverage seemed more opaque when initially applied, but in practice, it is more of a medium, buildable coverage product that can easily be applied sheer–and the formula is best-performing when worn sheer to medium in coverage.
When I wore it as more opaque coverage, I got creasing within six hours of wear, but when I sheered it out as more of a wash of color, they lasted seven to eight hours before creasing a bit.
The texture felt more like a whipped mousse–airy, lightweight, and spreadable without being too watery or thin–and blended out readily with a synthetic, fluffy brush or a fingertip. I found they were quick to dry down, which made me prefer a brush for a really diffused application of color as a fingertip seemed to make it dry down faster.

Nearly Berry
Rare Beauty Nearly Berry Stay Vulnerable Liquid EyeshadowRare Beauty Nearly Berry Stay Vulnerable Liquid Eyeshadow ($20.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a medium-dark plum with subtle, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. Of the shades released thus far, this shade seemed a little wetter–it took longer to dry down and turn to a powder-like finish compared to other shades, though it was still a quicker-setting product overall.
It had medium, buildable coverage that seemed naturally inclined to diffuse and sheer out rather than build up, so it was best applied as a sheerer layer and then build up a second layer after the first layer had dried down. The consistency was lightweight, airy, and more mousse-like, which helped it spread well across the skin and blend out well along the edges.
I preferred a fluffy, synthetic brush for getting the most even edge as it gave me more time to work than if I used my fingertips as the formula was quick-drying. It creased noticeably after five hours of wear when worn at mostly opaque coverage (built up) and seven and a half hours when worn at semi-sheer coverage.
