Nicolas Ghesquière loves enlisting brand ambassadors for Louis Vuitton. The French fashion house already has Alicia Vikander, Emma Stone and Léa Seydoux on its roster. Now Naomi Osaka joins the label’s impressive lineup. Naomi’s first official outing sees her starring in Vuitton’s Spring 2021 advertising campaign. Nicolas picks up the camera once again photographing the tennis ace in the studio for the simple and straightforward campaign.

But the campaign failed to excite. “I’d have the same expression if they made me wear that dress…” critiqued GERGIN.

“You can tell on her face she has no idea what she’s wearing. Naomi seems a little embarrassed…” voiced fakeawake.

“I regret all the times I thought of Karl Lagerfeld as a terrible designer turned photographer as Nicolas is setting a new low. Photography, styling, lighting, pose…somebody should’ve prevented this,” style_expert pointed out.

GivenchyHomme shared the same sentiment: “Dead face aside, she looks like she’s wearing someone’s seventh-grade art project and that bag is not cute.”

“A total snoozefest and I just can NOT with how bored and lifeless Naomi Osaka looks. Ghesquière photographing the one campaign during the pandemic was excusable, but not now,” vogue28 chimed in.

“Who on earth thought that this was a good photo?” asked Nomar.

TaylorBinque wasn’t buying it, either. “I love Naomi. She’s beautiful. But I would make that face too if they had me wearing this atrocious dress. Nicolas, just stay home and let the real photographers do their job.”
