Do you, in principle, like the thought of smelling like outer space, but feel hesitant to perfume yourself with the odors of “hot metal” and “seared steak” (which is what astronauts experience smelling)? If so, you have a sweeter galactic choice for Grammy award-winner and popular perfume supplier Ariana Grande, who just launched her new Ariana Grande REM perfume.
Grande dropped her sixth fragrance yesterday, REM perfume (like her Sweetner solo “R.E.M.” not R.E.M.). The crystal scent is described as “an intergalactic vision of femininity and strength.” Each spritz has notes of fig, salted caramel, marshmallow, lavender, tonka bean, and pear blossom that “explode in the night sky like a supernova” — all ingredients for a starry dessert that should match the heavy serving of gunpowder, steak, and rum fumes in space.

It should be if the packaging of Ariana Grande REM perfume takes you back to simpler times. When teasing the fragrance on Instagram earlier this month, Grande wrote, “I’m still the version of myself that I was in break free tbh in my dreams.” In the 2014 “Break Free” music video, she wears high thigh boots to fight evil powers in space and gets down with intergalactic beings as Zedd deejays background. In fact a dream.

No news on whether Ariana Grande REM perfume (the fragrance) will get its own music video as last year thank u, next one (the fragrance) did, but you can purchase it now at Ulta before it hits physical stores later this month. Judging by the imagery of the campaign, it seems like a good way to feel a little closer to the moon, who’s actively thank you u, coming next to us by inching further and further away.
