ColourPop Wild Child Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches – OWNSKIN

Wild Child

ColourPop Wild Child 9-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($12.00 for 0.32 oz.) is a new, darker neutral palette that includes four matte shades, one sparkly shade, two pearly shades, one pressed glitter, and one sparkly matte. It had a good range of depth and some contrast between undertones, so for those who have been looking for darker, warm-toned neutrals, this is one to consider. I felt like most of the mattes and shimmers (excluding Fierce) were really some of the brand’s best in awhile.

Spotted

Spotted is a light, orange-brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was lightly powdery in the pan, but it had nearly opaque color coverage that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily along the edges. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

$4.50/0.05 oz. – $90.00 Per Ounce

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Fierce

Fierce is a brighter, medium copper with strong, warm orange undertones and a sparkling finish. It had opaque pigmentation in a single layer, but the consistency was more loosely-pressed into the pan, which resulted in a product that was more prone to fallout. I’d recommend applying it with a fingertip or a dampened brush to minimize the fallout, though the eyeshadow still applied evenly and had good adhesion for actual wear. This shade lasted well for eight hours before fading visibly.

Ground Crew

Ground Crew is a medium, coppery brown with warm, more orange undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had opaque color payoff that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out with ease. The texture was lightly powdery in the pan, but I didn’t notice fallout or a tendency to sheer out during application. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Close Up

Close Up is a medium-dark, rosy bronze with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and dense without being too thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented and wore nicely for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Lashes

Lashes is a medium-dark brown base with flecks of gold, bronze, and copper glitter throughout. It was a pressed glitter, so it contained plastic (PET) glitter, but it used smaller particles than typical and had more pigmentation in its base color (most have a transparent base).

The texture was lightly emollient to the touch and could be pushed around visibly in the pan with a brush or fingertip. It had mostly opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and had good dispersion. The product adhered well for eight hours with light migration over time (tested as a cheek product).

Grasslands

Grasslands is a medium brown with moderate, warm undertones and flecks of gold micro-sparkle over a matte finish. It had rich pigmentation in a single layer, which applied evenly to bare skin and blended out well but had a touch of fallout from the flecks of sparkle (which didn’t bind with the base pigment). The texture was lightly powdery in the pan, but it was more velvety and substantial, which gave it a better look and feel in practice. It stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading visibly.

Herd to Get

Herd to Get is a medium-dark, richer brown with warm, reddish undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had a soft, smooth consistency that felt more velvety and substantial, so it yielded opaque pigmentation in one layer that adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out nicely along the edges. It wore well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

Icon

Icon has a blackened-brown base with muted, more olive-bronze pearl throughout. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was denser but not overly firm in the pan, so it picked up well with a dry brush and had good, even adhesion to bare skin. This shade lasted well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Feisty

Feisty is a deep brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. The texture was soft, slightly thin, but it wasn’t too firmly-pressed into the pan and remained blendable over bare skin. It had opaque color payoff that adhered evenly and stayed on nicely for eight hours before showing signs of fading.
