NARS Anouk Audacious Sheer Matte Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a brighter, deep coral-red with warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had medium color coverage, which was buildable to mostly opaque coverage.
The texture was firmer, very lightweight, and had more of a velvety slip quality to it, so it glided across comfortably but had a very thin feel on my lips. It emphasized my natural lip texture slightly, though the brighter and deeper color camouflaged some imperfections in application. It lasted for four hours and felt non-drying.

The formula is supposed to have “medium-sheer coverage” with a “petal-soft powder finish” that “blurs lines and mattifies lips” while having an “easy, gliding application and comfortable wear.” The texture was very lightweight, thin, and more like a silicone primer, as it was more velvety and smooth, so it did glide across my lips without tugging, but it did the opposite of blur lines.
Often, these more silicone-based formulas seem particularly prone to settling into my lip lines or otherwise catching on or emphasizing natural lip texture and imperfections–even after I’ve exfoliated prior. The pigmentation was medium coverage and somewhat buildable, which was as described.
They lasted for two to three hours and felt non-drying over time. They had a sweet, sugary scent (though not quite vanilla) but no discernible taste.

NARS Sandrine Audacious Sheer Matte Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a brighter, pinky-red with subtle, cool undertones and a matte finish. It had medium, buildable pigmentation with a smooth, more velvety consistency that glided on comfortably but was very thin and ultra-lightweight on my lips.
The downside was that it was a less forgiving formula when it came to lip lines and any imperfections in lip texture. It wore decently for four hours and felt neither drying nor hydrating over time.

It had medium, buildable color payoff that adhered fairly evenly but was more prone to emphasizing my lip texture and catching along imperfections than the average lipstick due to the thinner consistency.
The formula was more velvety in its glide, so it didn’t feel traditionally emollient but did not tug during application. It stayed on well for three hours and felt non-drying over time.
